Faculties & Departments 

Baskir State Medical University commenced its endeavors with a solitary department, General Medicine. However, BSMU has come a long way and presently boasts over 70 departments and 6 faculties thereby offering a diverse range of courses to its students. 

1. Faculty of Dentistry 

Established in 1976, the esteemed Faculty of Dentistry has been a leading institution in training over 5,000 expert dentists for nearly half a century, with an impressive 100 foreign graduates. Distinguished doctors and scientists in the field of dentistry impart their knowledge and conduct cutting-edge research across various disciplines, ranging from forecasting, diagnostics, and traditional treatment methods to innovative techniques in dentistry. 2. Faculty of General Medicine 

The Faculty of General Medicine holds the distinction of being the oldest faculty in the university's history, having been established in 1932. Its size is unparalleled, as it is the largest unit within the BSMU. Over the course of its existence, the faculty has produced an impressive 16,000 graduates who have gone on to become esteemed physicians. The faculty of general medicine includes 25 departments offering 50 specialist courses for students such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, oncology, dermatology, traumatology, and others.

3. Faculty of Pediatrics 

The foundation of this faculty was paved in 1961 since then around 7,200 pediatricians have completed their training. 17 departments exist within this faculty. This faculty of BMSU offers a range of new specialist courses in Neonatology, Pediatric hematology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, etc.

4. Faculty of Pharmacy 

The esteemed faculty of Pharmacy came into being in the year 1981 and has since then been a beacon of knowledge and excellence. Over 4,600 accomplished pharmacists, including 28 international scholars, have honed their skills and completed their education at BSMU with great success. The students are meticulously trained in a broad spectrum of academic disciplines, encompassing the entire gamut from the development of medicines, and their distribution, to preclinical and clinical research, ensuring a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of the future.

5. Faculty of Preventive Medicine and Biology 

The faculty of preventive medicine and biology was established in 2000 which majorly trains students for the healthcare system and bachelors in biology. Before 2000, the specialists were trained at the Faculty of Sanitary and Hygenic Medicine. Moreover, the training of biology specialty was initiated in 2006.  

This faculty comprises the following 11 departments: 

• Department of Dermatovenerology with courses in dermatovenerology and cosmetology of postgraduate education

Admission Process 

Any student who aspires to study medicine at Bashkir State Medical University must follow the admission procedure after completing their schooling. 

Step 1: Fill up the admission form. The form is available online at the official website of the university. 

Step 2: Submitting the essential documents with the application. 

Step 3: Wait for the invitation letter from the university. It usually takes 30 days to receive the invitation mail. 

Step 4: Apply for a student visa. After receiving the invitation mail, the student must contact the embassy of the Russian Federation in his/her country to apply for the visa. 

Step 5: Clear all the outstanding dues including the tuition fees, accommodation charges, and additional charges. 

Step 6: Travel to Russia, and you are all set to join the university.

Eligibility Criteria 

In order to pursue a medical education at Bashkir State Medical University, prospective students are required to meet specific criteria. These include 

• At least 50% marks to be secured in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in Class 12 

• Student must be 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year 

Note: Indian students must qualify for NEET (50th percentile for general/EWS category and 40th percentile for reserved category). International students are required to qualify for the university’s entrance examination.
