About the University

Established in 1932, Northern State Medical University provides the state-of-the-art Facilities with modern appliances to train medical students at the university. Today NSMU is the main medical training center for six regions of Northern Russia. 

More than 9000 students are studying medicine at Northern State Medical University from 17 different countries of the world and more than 100 graduates are working in 20 different countries across the globe including the USA, UK, Canada, Israel, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, etc. 

Currently, the university boasts an extensive infrastructure facilitating efficient research and study. With a dedicated team of professionals, the university has around 980 staff including teachers, doctors of sciences, researchers and scientists imparting training and education to the medical students in Russia. At NSMU, there are 16 faculties and institutes and 55 departments, of which, 27 of them are clinical departments and situated at the best hospitals of the city. Admission Process

Students must go through certain procedures to secure a seat for higher education at Northern State Medical University. Here are few of the steps, students must adhere to for admission: 

Step 1: Fill up the admission form for the chosen course, available on the university’s website.

Step 2: Submit your application including the required documents

Step 3: Receive the admission/acceptance letter from the university.

Step 4: After receiving the application/invitation letter from the university, students must apply for a student visa to proceed with their study in Russia. 

Step 5: Students are required to make the payment of their tuition fees and other dues. 

Step 6: Prepare for your travel for higher education in Russia 

Eligibility Criteria

For higher education in Russia at Northern State Medical University, the students must fulfill the following criteria: 

1. Students should have passed the 10+2 with an average of 50% marks in subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized board.

2. Students must be 17 years of age in the year of admission to the university. 

Note: To secure admission at Northern State Medical University, Indian students are required to qualify NEET whereas International students are required to clear the university’s specific entrance examination.
